Driving Teen Financial Independence: Google Pay's 'Pocket Money' Campaign

Empowering Teenagers with Google Pay Pocket Money Feature

Google Pay, in collaboration with TBWA\Lintas, has launched a new campaign introducing 'Google Pay Pocket Money', a feature designed on UPI Circle in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India. This initiative aims to provide financial independence to teenagers while offering real-time oversight and control to parents through UPI IDs linked to their bank accounts.

The campaign is brought to life through a series of engaging films that portray teenagers from diverse backgrounds facing common hurdles in making payments, often relying on family members for financial transactions.

Empowering Financial Independence

  • Google Pay Pocket Money allows teenagers to connect their UPI IDs directly to their parents' bank accounts.
  • It enables young users to manage their finances independently while giving parents the ability to monitor and control transactions in real time.

A prominent figure in the campaign is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a 15-year-old cricket prodigy celebrated for his outstanding performances in both domestic and international cricket. The films showcase Vaibhav and his peers navigating everyday situations with the help of this feature, making seamless digital payments and expressing their newfound financial autonomy.
