Revolutionizing Printing with Chennai's Cutting-Edge ATM
The Evolution of Printing: Self-Service Kiosks Revolutionizing Campus Printing
Picture this: It's crunch time at college, and you urgently need to print a two-page document. But as you head to the nearest printing shop, the sight of a long queue dampens your spirits. This scenario is all too familiar for many students, where even multiple printing shops on campus do little to alleviate the waiting time.
Redefining Convenience
For Pranav Senthil and Subeshwar P, this daily hassle sparked the inception of QwikPrint, a startup introducing self-service printing kiosks akin to ATMs. The concept is simple yet groundbreaking—users can upload their document, customize print settings, pay digitally, and retrieve their printouts autonomously, cutting down on unnecessary waiting.
Both founders personally experienced the frustration of enduring lengthy queues despite the availability of numerous printing shops on campus. This led them to question the root cause of the issue: the reliance on manual intervention in the printing process, resulting in perpetual queues.
Redefining Convenience
The core innovation of QwikPrint lies in eliminating the need for a human-operated counter. By enabling users to scan a QR code, upload their file, choose print specifications, make secure digital payments, and receive the printout via an OTP-based system, the entire process is streamlined and expedited.
Moreover, these kiosks operate autonomously, offering a solution to the common predicament of requiring printouts outside of traditional shop hours.
Additionally, QwikPrint addresses the privacy concerns of users who need to print sensitive documents by implementing encryption and privacy-focused measures to safeguard uploaded files.
Empowering Campuses with Innovation
Since its inception in June 2025, QwikPrint has gained traction in multiple campuses, including Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Dhaanish Ahmed College of Engineering, and PSG iTech. As of May 2026, the company boasts nearly 45 kiosks across prominent cities like Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Delhi.
While the journey to success was riddled with challenges, such as navigating hardware intricacies and establishing credibility with stakeholders, QwikPrint's perseverance has paid off.
The Future of Self-Service Printing
Looking ahead, QwikPrint envisions a future where self-service printing kiosks are ubiquitous in locations requiring instant document access, such as educational institutions, medical facilities, and government offices. This transformative approach is poised to redefine the landscape of traditional printing services, offering unparalleled convenience and efficiency.
As the print industry evolves towards on-demand services, QwikPrint stands at the forefront of innovation, reshaping how individuals interact with printing facilities. The days of enduring protracted queues for a simple printout may soon become a thing of the past, thanks to initiatives like QwikPrint.
